Shaving Cream Fun!

An empty shower and shaving cream is all you need for this one :)

Place your child in the tub and fill their hands with shaving cream...
If your child is stable enough leave their socks on their feet for later :]

Back away if you don't want to be covered in shaving cream as well :) Then tell your child to shake or wave their hands throwing shaving cream everywhere!

"Do what mommy?"

That may be your child's response being as typically we tell them NOT to get what is all over them everywhere else :)

She flung shaving cream EVERYWHERE....we had it 3 feet outside of the tub :)

Once the floor of the tub gets shaving cream on it show them (with your help for safety) that they can slip and slide

Once your child has had enough....

Simply strip your child while they are in the bath tub and throw their clothes in the wash then take the shower head and rinse out the bath tub. If any gets outside the tub take a dry towel to wipe it off.

[If your child has sensitive skin take a wipe or wet wash cloth to their skin to wash off any residue of the shaving cream]

Puffy Paints!

These paints are a unique way to let your child be creative!! They dry the way they were left so your child can create a 3-D picture!!

All you need is a paper plate, construction paper, wipes, shaving cream and glue.
(If you want different colors food coloring and Popsicle sticks will be needed as well)

Have your child pick their paper color

Place the plate close to their paper

Put your shaving cream on the plate. (No specific amount needed)

Add your glue to the shaving cream.
[If you add food coloring now is the time to add a few drops...]

Mix the shaving cream and glue together. Let your child do it if they are willing!
[If you added food coloring use your popsicle stick to stir it so hands aren't stained]

(Of course, after I started mixing it Bug decided that it was okay for her to do it too!!)

Once your paints are mixed paint your papers!

These paints have a unique texture making this a sensory project too!! Let your child take their time and explore it!! They are smooth and creamy....yet sticky!!

Let your child's creations dry and hang them up for everyone to see!!


{Lesson Learned: If your child's hair is longer pull it up and out of their face for this one or you will be brushing puffy paints out of their hair!!}

The wipes will clean the small spots and wipe it out of their hair.....Warm running water works better for their hands and / or feet when they are covered in it!!

Squishy Bags

This is a mess free option to playing with shaving cream!!

Grab some food coloring, shaving cream, a ziplock (or 2), and some duct tape 

[The freezer bags are thicker and may work better but 2 regular ziplocks will do the same]

Have your little one hold open the ziplock for you

Fill the bag about 3/4 full of shaving cream...

Have your child pick a color of food coloring....

Add 10-15 drops to the shaving cream

Seal the ziplock making sure to get most the air out....

Add duct tape over the seal to be sure it won't pop open....

If you are using regular ziplocks put the duct taped bag into a second bag....

Hand it over and let them explore and watch it change colors as they squish it and squeeze it!!

Once your child is done you can either throw it away or put it up and pull it out at a later date!!  :)
