Snow Flakes

We have had 1 snow fall in Southern Wisconsin and it melted less then two days later. In attempt to make up for the missing snow that Bug 'loves to walk in' :) We made Snow flakes :)

All you need are a pair of scissors (safety scissors are preferred but ours disappeared!), coffee filters and tape. (We used the extra sheet of white paper to practice cutting before we did the filters)

Take 1 flattened coffee filter....

Have your little one fold it in half...

Fold it in half again...

And once again...Put this piece aside...

Grab your piece of paper to practice...

I had Bug sit in my lap and did 'hand over hand' with the scissors with her. (MUCH easier with a smaller pair of scissors)

I held on to the end....

Had her help me cut the filter however she chose to do it...(Making sure that the edge holding it all together wasn't cut completely.)

This is the shape she cut...

There's what it turned out like :)

Pick a place in the house to hang them...She chose my bedroom door. (Sorry it is hard to see white snow flakes on a white door).

Put scissors and tape away, clean up leftover pieces of paper and your are done :)
