Cake Pops

We made our own frosting (recipe found HERE ) Cover it and put it in the fridge...

We have the pans to make the cake pops but you can do it without them too :) Be sure to spray them down with Pam

Make your cake mix as the box instructs....(This made 2 rounds of cake balls and a 9x9 cake :)  )

Fill the bottom pan to the fill lines and place the top on. Then attach the clips and place in the oven (Cook according to cake box directions (about 15 minutes)

Using pot holders take the top pan off and allow to cool for at least 10 minutes [you may need to take a butter knife and trim the over flow around the edges of the cake balls].....as those are cooling melt some chocolate in the microwave...

Coat the end of the stick in chocolate...this will help hold the cake ball on the stick...

Place the stick into the ball and place on a plate/pan....
Once your pan is filled place them in the freezer for 10 minutes... (at this point pull the frosting out of the fridge and take the lid off...

If you want colored frosting separate small bowls and add a few drops of food coloring and stir....

Frost the pops...use a small handfull of sprinkles to finish off the decorating.... I placed these on a plate (probably should of used waxed paper too) and placed them back in the freezer to harden the frosting so they were easier to wrap..

I also melted more chocolate and covered a few in chocolate and sprinkles...placing them in the freezer for 10 minutes will harden the chocolate...

[This frosting tastes very good but I noticed it tended to start to melt and drip off when it wasn't cool...perfect for cakes but a thicker kind would be better for these]

Using candy wrappers and twist ties wrap them and seal them :)

FINAL PROJECT :)

We can't wait to make more :)
