Mummy Dogs

To continue our Halloween theme we made 'Mummy Dogs'  :) It's fun and SO easy!!!

All that is needed is a sharp knife, a cookie sheet (we put tin foil on to make clean up easy), hot dogs,1 tube cresent seemless dough sheet (or cresent rolls) and a slice of cheese.

[I forgot the cheese in the picture but like they hold together just fine without the cheese too!!]

Preheat your oven to 350

Open the dough

Unroll it

Take the knife and cut strips of varying sizes from the dough

Pull a hot dog out of your package

{If using the cheese you will need to place the cheese on the hot dog before the next step}
Wrap the dough around the 'bottom' of the hotdog a couple times to make it easier for your little one to roll the dough on (and hold the cheese in place). I found that using 2 strips per hot dog worked pefectly

[Sorry no picture...hubby must have missed this step before Bug got uncooperative]

Have your child roll the dough around the hot dog in an erratic form to make it look like a mummy

Once the hot dog is rolled in dough...
Separate a spot at the 'top' of the hot dog to leave room for the Mummy's eyes after baking

Place on cookie sheet and continue doing this until there is enough hot dogs for everyone to enjoy :)

Place the cookie sheet in your preheated oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until they are golden brown

If you choose you can use ketchup or mustard to add eyes to your mummy's
*We didn't do that step because I had to cut Bug's up *

Put on a plate with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!!

What a fun way to have lunch for dinner this Halloween season!!!

  1. These are so cute! We will be making them either this week or next week.

  2. They have rekindled my love for corndogs! I used the butter flavor crescents and thats just what they taste like, minus the tooth breaking stick!! This can totally be a year round lunch in our house

Thank you for your comment!!! We read and appreciate every one of them!!!
