Let's stop and smell the flowers!!!

Tissue Paper flowers are very simple and will keep your little on occupied! This project is perfect for a hot or  rainy when you can't get outside!!

Supplies needed:
Coffee Filters, Markers, Scotch Tape, paper plates, construction paper, cup of water (take and toss sippy works perfectly!) and a scissors (which I couldn't put out due to my little one)

Take a coffee filter and fold it in half

Fold it in half again

One last time fold it in half again

Using a paper plate under the filter to save on messes let your little on color on both side of the folded coffee filter. (While they are coloring on this you can fold a couple more filters to be colored)

Each flower will take a minimum of 3 filters but more is fine :)     After both side of each filter are colored...

Place them pointed side down in the water...

Allow them to sit for about 15 minutes

Remove from the water...

Open them up and lay them to dry on paper plates

Next cut out some silly shapes

Start with the biggest one on the bottom and start to layer them using the tape to keep them in place

Once they are all layered you will have your flower!

Next have your child (if they are old enough) cut out a couple of leaves and a stem. Tape those together with the flower and your done!!!
